In 2016 we began community art groups with funding partners and charities in and around Glasgow, helping young people, adults and communities come together to get creative and have fun with art. We help to build skills and confidence, nurturing inclusion and wellbeing. Blair works regularly especially with youth groups, read more below.

Literacy, Creative Writing and Art

In 2017 we worked with Two Hours Ltd and Glasgow Life (part of Glasgow City Council) on a publication ‘Future’ combining art and literacy as part of their theme ‘Learning for the Future’ for the Aye Write! Book Festival. We helped bring together writing and drawings from adult learners, breaking down boundaries between literacy and art, encouraging participants to use different approaches to express themselves.

Working with Charities, Organisations and Community Groups

We work closely with funding bodies, charities and partners, and creative collaborators to deliver high quality arts provision in areas that really need it, on diverse projects from anime to craft to creative writing to painting to land art. These include Creative Scotland (Youth Arts in 2021), North United Communities, Centre 81 (Clydebank), Parkhead Artist in Residence, Community Safety Glasgow, Glasgow Life (Glasgow City Council), Glasgow CAN, Flightpath Fund, The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, G15 Youth Group, Wheatley Foundation and Housing Associations. Blair has also worked with the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Art (board member and trustee) on community work, and with schools such as Hamilton College and Largs Academy.

“I enjoyed doing the large ink piece because we were able to draw our own concepts for the piece. I enjoyed using the ink. The group made me feel more confident to use different materials while drawing or doing art.”
